However, our bodies have found ways to remove these substances.
It does this through the liver and the kidney. The kidney filters waste from the body. It keeps blood pressure stable. It keeps the body balanced.
Sometimes the kidney gets overwhelmed. When this happens, blood pressure starts to rise and it stays high continuously.
If this happens, doctors will prescribe medications to help keep the pressure down.

Did you know there are plants that help you remove waste from the body? These plants also increase the amount of fluid that is in the body.
A lot of symptoms that drugs treat, plants can take care of it too.
But you have to know which plants to use.
Drugs that increase the amount of fluid leaving the body as urine are called diuretics.
Plants that increase the amount of fluid that leave the body are called natural diuretics.
Some natural diuretics include
Cucumber
Hibiscus flower
Water Melon(both the red and the golden watermelon)
Dandelion
Ginger
Parsley
Black cumin
Let’s take a closer look at some of them and see how they really help.
Cucumber: It has a large amount of water. It’s also rich in sulfur, silicon and potassium.
Sulfur and silicon help the kidney to filter unwanted substances and form urine.
Potassium pushes sodium and fluid into urine.
Cucumber can be juiced or blended to make a smoothie.
Hibiscus Flower: It contains anthocyanin and flavonoids which regulate aldosterone. Aldosterone controls how urine is produced.
So how do you use it? . Put it in hot water for 10 mins and cover with a lid. Then remove the leaves and it’s ready to drink. You can add honey, lemon or pineapple for flavour.
WaterMelon: This has a rich supply of water. Water encourages more urination and removal of waste products from the body.
Simply juice or blend your watermelon and enjoy. If the back is properly washed and cleaned, it can be juiced too.
Dandelion- It’s leaf and root contain vitamins and minerals like phosphorus, calcium, beta-carotene, magnesium and iron.All these stimulate the kidney to remove impurities and form urine.
It’s easy to make. Pour the boiling water into a cup and then add the dandelion. Then, let it stand for 10 minutes. Strain out the roots and or leaves and drink the infusion two to three times a day.
Beets: These are high in potassium which helps in removing sodium and fluid from the body.
You can juice or smoothie your beets.
Parsley: A study found out that parsley used in rats increased their urine output.
To use, wash and chop up the parsley. Add the parsley to a cup with the boiling water and let it sit for five to ten minutes. Then, strain the water, let it cool down and then drink the tea several times a day.
Black Cumin: This helps to the body to have equal amounts of sodium and potassium levels and increase urine output.
It can be boiled in hot water. Allow it to stand for a few minutes. Separate the fluid from the seed and your tea is ready to drink
Other ways to encourage urine output are
- Exercise- Sweating is a great way to remove waste and salt out of the body.
- Increase magnesium intake – this helps to remove fluid from the body. It’s a mineral that helps women reduce the amount of fluid that is kept by the body.
- Stay hydrated- This helps one urinate more.
- Eat foods that contain a lot of potassium like bananas, coconut, avocado.
- Consume less salt.
It’s important to get the advice of an alternate medicine practitioner before taking these natural diuretics.
